I sat alone in the Grassy Hill
staring at the moon as it shone brightly
in the midnight sky.
I heard the wolf clan’s howl their night song
to let go of all their sorrows
and pray for forgiveness.
I looked around
still alone in the Grassy Hill
alone outside.
My Mother and Father
Brother and Sister
together as one
up in the sky.
My name is Shadow
I am a lone wolf
No family is in my way
No Alpha to lead the way
But one day
I will find a mate
And be whole
Even if it is for a day
